Richard Clarence Devantier, 77, of Roscommon, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, November 25, 2021 at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital. Richard was born December 24, 1943 to the late Howard and Dorothy (Schroeder) Devantier. Richard is also survived by his brother, Ronald (Dorothy) Devantier. Richard devoted 26 years of service to the community as a Macomb County Sheriff’s Department Deputy. He took great pride in patrolling Lenox, Richmond and Armada Townships, keeping the community safe and making friends everywhere he went. Over the course of his life, he enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing, bowling, plowing snow, playing mischievous pranks while looking so innocent, playing euchre and morning coffee with the guys at the hardware store. Richard was always helping someone with something, especially if it involved using his John Deere tractor. Richard had a very giving, generous heart and was a very devoted family man. He especially enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters and great granddaughter.
