Lawrence Edward Till

Lawrence Edward Till, age 78, of Lenox, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, October 18, 2021.  Lawrence was born on January 9, 1943 to Lawrence and Etta Till.  Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Till, Etta Till-Van Hevel, and Albert Van Hevel. Lawrence and his wife, Pat, celebrated 50 years of marriage in August 2021.  Lawrence took pride in molding the minds of the youth he taught.  He worked for Detroit Public Schools as a teacher, counselor, administrator, and advisor for forty plus years.  When Lawrence was younger, he played in his grandfather’s Hawaiian band and was a dog show photographer.  He enjoyed watching baseball, especially the Detroit Tigers.  He was an avid bowler in his younger years and continued to enjoy bowling for fun as an adult.  He loved playing jazz on his piano, and he taught piano to fund his college education.  Music was a family profession and pastime, one he shared with his sister, Delores.  His Alaskan Malamutes and Beagles were a lifelong passion, and his daughter, Tricia, continues to show and breed their dogs today.  He was a member of several dog clubs and loved nothing more than talking dogs with anyone who would listen.  His extended family and friends in music, dogs, and education were very important to Larry in his later years.

Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. with a Scripture Service at 6:30 Thursday, October 28, 2021 at the Rewalt-Peshek Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 11:00 A.M. with a visitation from 10:00 A.M. until the time of Service Friday, October 29, 2021 at the Rewalt-Peshek Funeral Home, 68655 Stoecker Lane, Richmond, MI 48062.
