John Reetz Sr.

JOHN CHARLES REETZ SR., age 73 of Warren passed away on January 29, 2009 in St. John Macomb Hospital after a long illness. He was born November 24, 1935 in Mount Clemens, MI. to the late William and Lillian (Heinz) Reetz. John was a forty year member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 324 in Troy, MI.. His interests included watching NASCAR, tinkering with classic cars and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his children, Tawny Reetz-Davis of St. Clair Shores, John Reetz Jr. of Eastpointe, Linda Reetz-Kahl (Kevin) of Avoca, Michael (Alicia) Reetz of Beverly Hills, Richard Reetz of Sterling Heights and Arlene Contreras of Colorado Springs, grandchildren, Amanda and Ashley Wills, Kevin and Calvin Kahl, Sydney Reetz and Marc and Monica Contreras, siblings, Helen Marsack of Harrison Township, Patricia (Erwin) McGinnis of NJ and Robert Reetz of Clinton Township. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Elenor Peltier, William, Peggy, James and Gerald Reetz, Eileen Kalisz and Kathleen Galvin. He will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews and former wife, friend and caregiver, Mabel Reetz. A funeral service will be Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at 10:00 am in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond. Reverend Ronald DeHondt, pastor of St. Margaret of Scotland in St. Clair Shores will officiate. Burial will be in St. Peter Cemetery in Mount Clemens. Visiting will be on Monday from 3 to 8pm and Tuesday from 9 to 10am. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimers Association.
