Jennie M. Kolasinski

JENNIE MARIE KOLASINSKI age 99, a long time resident of Richmond Township died Friday, July 17, 2015 in the Villages of Armada. Jennie was born February 19, 1916 in Detroit to the late John and Bernice (Kurys) Lesniak. She married Richard Kolasinski in Richmond on April 27, 1935. Mr. Kolasinski died June 29, 2001. She graduated from Richmond High School in 1934 and attended Port Huron Junior College for three years. She was a long time member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and strong of faith. She retired in 1979 as a manager at Kroger Food Corp in Richmond after thirty years service. Jennie loved to dance and garden and was very proud of her Polish heritage. She and her husband traveled extensively, visiting over forty countries. She traveled to Rome three times. She is survived by her daughter, Pat Brotherton of Washington Township, siblings; Thomas Lesniak of South Bend, IN and Olga) Palin of Chesterfield, grandchildren; Michele Litkenhaus of SanDiago, CA and Christine (Charles) Flott of Franklin, TN and four great-grandsons. In addition to her husband of 66 years, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Mark Brotherton and her brother Edward Lesniak. A funeral Mass will be on Monday, July 20, 2015 at 10:00am on St. Augustine Church. Reverend Sean Bonner, associate pastor will officiate. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery. Visiting will be on Sunday, July 19th from 3 to 8pm in Rewalt Funeral Home in Richmond and Monday from 9:30 to 10am in the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested for the Community Food Pantry in Richmond.
