Jed Kain Obituary

Jed Armond Kain, 86, died unexpectedly at St. John River District Hospital on September, 13, 2016. Born in Detroit to Frank and Grace (Haug) Kain on July 14, 1930. Jed leaves behind his wife Nancy Kain of 60 years. He had three children, Kathy Holzapfel (deceased), Diana Colley (Casco Michigan) and Jeff (Beth) Kain (Richmond Michigan). There are eight grandchildren, Heather Skinner (Florida), Johnathan Holzapfel (Florida), Patrick Colley (Richmond), Briana Colley (Casco), David Kulman (Richmond), Holly Kulman (Memphis), Nichola Helzer (Richmond), Jacob Kain (Richmond) and five great grandchildren. Also, survived by his brother Lon Kain and brother in law Art Blount (Florida). Preceded in death by his sister Dee Blount and sister in law Adge Kain. Jed moved out to Richmond when his dad retired and they decided to farm together. He was drafted into the military and proudly served his country. When he was discharged he ventured home to Richmond and shortly after married his sweetheart Nancy Wichert on February 18, 1956. Jed was employed at Muller Brass and retired in 1992. He belonged to the First United Methodist Church and served in the men's club, newsletter, was a trustee, usher and helped with many meals served at the church. He loved his farming and vegetable garden. In the Winter time he liked his puzzles and Sudoku . Jed will be forever missed. Visitation will be 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday September 18, 2016 at Rewalt-Peshek Funeral Home, 68655 Stoecker Lane, Richmond 48062. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of service Monday September 19, 2016 at First United Methodist Church, 69495 N Main St, Richmond, MI 48062. Memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church or Disabled American Veterans, 17779 E. 14 Mile Road, Fraser, Michigan 48026.
