Franklin W. Heeney, a resident of Camden, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2023 at the age of 81 surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on March 4, 1942 in Grosse Pointe Farms, a son of John and Jennie (Kucharski) Heeney. He was united in marriage to Rosemarie Dupont in Richmond, Michigan on August 3, 1991. Frank was a retired Chief of Training from the Clinton Township Department of Fire-Rescue-EMS where he was always actively involved with the Clinton Township Fire Fighters Local 1381, the Michigan Professional Fire Fighters Union and the International Association of Fire Fighters. After retiring, he and his wife, Rosemarie, enjoyed 14 years traveling all over the country in a motorhome, eventually settling down in their home in Camden. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge in in Angola, Indiana. Frank is survived by his wife, Rosemarie; children, Shelly Marie O’Brien, Cathleen Renee Heeney and Colleen Babette Wynne; grandchildren, Hailey, Matthew, Maegen, Timothy, Kirby, Joshua, Caetlen, Danielle and Samuel; great grandchildren, Holland, Rolan, Jayden, Paisley, Rylie Zeekial, Mariah, Logan and Amia; dogs, Sandy and Abby; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his brothers, John “Jack” Heeney and Floyd Heeney; and his dogs, Paige and Ebony.
Funeral Service will be at 3:30 pm with a visitation from 2:00 pm until the time of Service on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at the Rewalt-Peshek Funeral Home, 68655 Stoecker Lane, Richmond, Michigan. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Wounded Warrior Project.
