FRANCES MARIE HUGO age 85 of St. Clair died Monday, May 12, 2014 in Marwood Manor Nursing Home after an extended illness. She was born October 3, 1928 in Lenox Township to the late Elmer and Clara (Makowski) Gundlach. She graduated as Salutatorian from Richmond High School in 1946 where she was awarded the Paul Mabley Citizen's Award. She married Lloyd Hugo in Richmond on September 16, 1950. Mr. Hugo died November 3, 1985. Fran was a lifetime member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Richmond and served with the Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid cookie baker and enjoyed sewing, dancing, bowling and especially spending time with her family. She is survived by her sons; Dennis (Meg) Hugo of Hulbert, Dale (Gigi) Hugo of Lenox and Douglas Hugo of Clyde, her companion of the past twenty-two years, Paulo Mistretta, her brothers; Earl Gundlach of Croswell, Richard (Theresa) Gundlach of Bad Axe and Ted Gundlach of Bad Axe, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Natalie Hugo on January 6, 2012 and siblings; Lawrence Gundlach and Lorraine Richardson. A funeral service will be on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 10:00am in St. Peter Lutheran Church. Reverend John Langewisch will officiate. Burial will be in Richmond Cemetery. Visiting will be on Tuesday from 5 to 8pm, Wednesday from 3 to 8pm in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:00am in the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Great Lakes Caring, Marwood Manor or Parkinson Foundation.
