Clifford "Joe" Rivard

CLIFFORD "JOE" RIVARD age 86 of New Baltimore died Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at the Upper Valley Medical Center in Piqua, OH. Mr. Rivard was born March 2, 1928 in New Baltimore, MI. He graduated from Mount Clemens High School in 1946 and served in the United States Army during World War II from May 1946 to October 1947 and during the Korean Conflict from October 1950 to October 1951. He married Rose Collins in St. Peters Catholic Church in Mount Clemens on June 24, 1950. Joe retired in 1983 after twenty-five years service as a maintenance supervisor at the Martha Tee Berry Hospital in Mount Clemens. He was an avid baseball fan who enjoyed coaching Little League, bowling, playing cards and going to the casinos. He is survived by his wife, Rose, children; Joseph Rivard of Mt. Pleasant, JoAnn (Adam) Dalia of Richmond and Mary Jane (Michael) Dalia of New Baltimore, his brother, Ronald (Kathy) Rowland of Clinton Township, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; Ephriam and Rose (Rivard) Rowland and brothers; Duane and Lawrence Rowland. A funeral Mass will be on Monday, January 19, 2015 at 10:00am in St. Augustine Catholic Church in Richmond. Reverend Joseph Horn, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery. Visiting will be on Sunday from 3 to 8pm in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond with a scripture service at 6:30pm and Monday from 9:30 to 10:00am in the church. Memorial contributions are suggested for the Disabled American Veterans.
