Clarence Hebel Obituary
Clarence "Chick" George Hebel, 97, of Richmond, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2020 at McLaren Macomb Hospital. Clarence was born December 28, 1922 to the late Herman and Amanda Hebel. Beloved husband of the late M. Kathleen Hebel; caring father of Lynette Rupersburg, Timothy (Tonya), Daniel (Sheri), John (Kimberly) and Scott Hebel; cherished grandfather of Cynthia and David(Devon) Rupersburg, Melora (John Buksas) Hebel, Nina and Nikki Tolentino, great grandfather of Caleb and Jacob Rupersburg, Grey Otto and Steele Buksas, great, great grandfather of Lincoln Otto. Also, survived by Anastasia Kreeceman, Dennis Milford and Colleen (Anthony) Stringi, and his sister's, Rose Schroeder, Luella Shue, Lilly Suess and Betty Hebel. Preceded in death by his siblings, Art, Herb and Robert Hebel, Gertrude Bellhorn, Adeline Graves, Herman Hebel, Doris Heck and Gerald Hebel.
Clarence proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard and was in combat in the South Pacific during World War II. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church where he was an usher and a member of the St. Augustine Athletic Association. Clarence was an avid bowler and outdoorsman. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and gardening.
Visitation will be 3:00-8:00 p.m. with a Scripture Service at 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2020 at the Rewalt-Peshek Funeral Home, 68655 Stoecker Lane, Richmond, MI 48062. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. with a visitation from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass Saturday, March 21, 2020 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 68035 S. Main Street, Richmond, MI 48062.
