Obituary

Beatrice Cecelia Burden, 98, of Richmond, Michigan, passed away peacefully Friday, June 9, 2023. Beatrice was born September 4, 1924 to the late Walter and Celia Trombly. Beloved wife of the late John Frederick Burden; caring mother of Rhonda (James) Chamberlain, Cynthia (Chris) White, John (Susan) Burden and James (Darlene) Burden; cherished grandmother of Aaron (Lora) and Ann Chamberlain, Emily (Andrew) Hargett, Bailey (Alex) Winget, Casey (Brad) Callahan and Josie (Paul) LaRowe; great grandmother of Sydney Gordon, Claire and Wesley Winget, Meredith Bea and Frederick Callahan and Lincoln, Sadie, Sonora and Lawson LaRowe. Beatrice is also survived by her sister, Sherle (John) Oprita, daughter-in-law, Cindy Jo Pietrykowski-Burden, many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her sons, Rodney and Joel Burden, grandsons, Jonathan White and Kyle Burden, brother, William Trombly and sister, Annabelle Burden. Beatrice was a woman of faith with a strong commitment to her husband and family. She loved spending time with all her loved ones especially her grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was always willing to help and support those she loved.  As she so often said, “I dedicate myself to my family, because they mean the absolute world to me.”Many may remember her working at Marcile’s Bridals and Fashions. She enjoyed helping customers choose clothing that made them look and feel their best.  She also found time for some fun activities.  She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed crocheting, golfing, bowling, crossword puzzles and playing cards. 

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 68035 Main St., Richmond, MI 48062.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Augustine Catholic Church and School.
