Anthony Frank Capozzo

Anthony Frank Capozzo, 70, of Richmond, passed away at Henry Ford Hospital Detroit. Tony was born October 9, 1947 to the late Melvin and Phyllis Capozzo. Beloved husband of the late Kathleen Capozzo; cherished father of Charlie (Barb), Scott (Jessica) and Nick (Amy) Capozzo; special grandfather of Madison, Taylor, Peyton, Dalton, Britton and Rylee. Also, survived by his siblings; Carol (Jerry) Orr, Margaret (Matt) Gaskin, and Jim (Lori) Capozzo. Tony was a Vietnam Veteran that proudly served in the United States Army. He had a passion for helping people and joined the Richmond Lions Club in 1977. He was club President 1994/95, District Governor 2007/08 and a recipient of the Melvin Jones Award in 1999 and 2009. He also served different positions at the district level, he was a zone chairman and 2 times region chairman, served on the board for the Lions of Michigan Service Foundation and the last 2 years has been the LCIF chairman for the district and for the Richmond Lions club. Tony was greatly respected by all the Lions in District 11A2. Tony owned and operated Capozzo & Sons Excavating since 1970, was a member of the Operating Engineers Union Local 324, and a lifetime member at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Richmond. He enjoyed Tractor pulling (NTPA, TTPA, Wolverine Pullers, Charter member NATPA, Charter member EMTPA) and loved spending time with his family; especially his grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 16, 2018 and Sunday, June 17, 2018 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. with a Scripture Service at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday at the Rewalt-Peshek Funeral Home, 68655 Stoecker Lane, Richmond, MI 48062. Funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m. with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass Monday, June 18, 2018 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 68035 Main St, Richmond, MI 48062.
