Willis Gilbert Clark Profile Photo

Willis Gilbert Clark, 83, of Richmond Township, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2025, at Leisure Manor. Born in Detroit on July 22, 1941, to the late Robert and Johannah Clark. Willis lived a full and meaningful life grounded in hard work, family, and a deep love for horses and his farm. He spent many years as a dedicated CPA and business owner, but his true passion was always the farm. Willis was the proud father of Doug (Kris) Clark, Dan Clark, Randy (Stephanie) Clark, and Sue Ann (Richard) Burlison. He has 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Barbara Sue (Rodgers) He also joins his siblings—Glenn Huovinen, Clarence Huovinen, Robert Clark, and Lorraine Heikkinen—who went before him. One of the many legacies he leaves behind is being a provider for some of the most vulnerable among us, with Belle Meade Adult Foster Care. To know Willis was to know someone who never stopped working with his hands or dreaming about his next venture. His farm was his sanctuary, and horses were his lifelong passion. He became a Macomb County Mounted Division Officer and riding instructor, trained harness horses, bought and sold them and successfully raced them throughout the country and Canada. He talked about horses, business and politics passionately, with everyone. They brought him joy, purpose, and countless memories.

He will be greatly missed.
