Ronald Gerhardt Kethe, 69 of Lenox Twp. died unexpectedly Saturday, May 3, 2008 in his daughters' home in Florida. He was born April 21, 1939 on the family farm in Richmond to the late Gerhardt and Clara (Werth) Kethe. He graduated from Richmond High School in 1957 and married Ida Campau on January 17, 1959. Ron retired from Pontiac Motors in 2006 where he worked in refrigeration maintenance. He was a member of St. Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church, Richmond, St. Peters Lutheran School Board, National Rifle Association, Beagle Kennel Club, and past member of the Jaycees. His life was always about his family, teaching, caring, and giving. He enjoyed working in the fields on the family farm and hunting. Ron is survived by his wife Ida, sons: Jeffery (Jodi) Kethe of Lenox, Frederick (Ramona) Kethe of Lenox, and Brian and (Darla) Kethe of Casco, daughters, Kathy Fenimore of Hawthorne, Florida and Cheryl (Lonnie) Smith of Croswell, brother Stuart Kethe of Lake Orion, sister Lois (Gene) Sample of Imlay City, foster brother Robert Gardiner of Ohio, thirteen grandchildren and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his brothers Paul and Roy Kethe. A funeral service will be Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 11:00 am in St. Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church, Richmond. Rev. Gerhardt Doroh and Rev. Randy Lett will officiate. Burial will be in the Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 3 to 9 in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond and Saturday from 10:30 to 11:00 in the church. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Wishes of the Family or St. Peter Lutheran Church.
