Margaret "Peg" Siefert

MARGARET "PEG" SIEFERT 75 of Columbus Township died unexpectedly on Monday, February 4, 2008 in St. John River District Hospital in East China Township, Michigan. Mrs. Siefert was born December 24, 1932 in Poughkeepsie, NY. to the late Roy and Helen (Key) Jones. She married Wayne Siefert in Ithica, NY On August 26, 1956. After graduating from Poughkeepsie High School she went on to earn her Bachelors degree from Vassar College in 1955 and a Masters degree from Cornell University. She studied the Russian language for several years hoping someday to be a translator. She previously worked as a social worker for the State of Michigan. After suffering a stroke nine years ago Peg enjoyed watching The Price is Right and The Young and The Restless but never a match with Tiger Woods was on that she didn't cheer him on. She is survived by her husband, Wayne, sons, Charles of Port Huron and Thomas and Wendy of Caseyville, Ill. and grandchildren, Whitney, Wyatt, Brandon and Matthew. A funeral service will be on Thursday at 11:00am in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond. Reverend Jennifer Long will officiate. Burial will be in Kittridge Cemetery in Columbus Township, MI. Visiting will be on Wednesday from 5 to 8pm and Thursday from 10 to 11am. Memorial contributions may be directed to the wishes of the family.
