Joyce Ann Hartway

Joyce Ann Hartway, 83, of Richmond, passed away peacefully April 10, 2025 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital with her loving family by her side. Joyce was born October 10, 1941 to the late Oscar and Freda Fistler. Beloved wife of Robert Hartway; cherished mother of Debbi Williams and Karen (David) Tousignant; caring grandmother of Brittany (Rob) Bordley, Kelsey Williams and Hunter (Hailey) Tousignant; adored sister of Richard (Virginia) Fistler. She is preceded in death by her siblings, August (Elvera) Fistler, Edward (Katherine) Fistler, Isabel (John) Willing, Marvin (Dorothy) Fistler, and Norman (Beverly) Fistler. Joyce was married to the love of her life, Robert Hartway, for 64 years. They were married on December 3, 1960 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Richmond. Joyce enjoyed being a wonderful grandmother very much. Her other passion in life was thoroughly nurturing her beautiful yard full of flowers. After a long rewarding sunny day in the garden, Joyce would occasionally enjoy an ice cold frozen coke on her front porch. Oh, how proud she would be as passer byers walked by and marveled at how beautiful and large her flowers were, often asking if they were real. That certainly put a smile on her face. Additionally, Joyce was an incredible homemaker who stayed up often late into the night to decorate her home for every holiday or every gathering. If you stopped in for a visit, there was always a fresh baked pie or cookies to enjoy, cup of coffee or little glass of wine, more often there was a meal!! After a wonderful visit full of good old day stories, a full stomach and an invitation to come again, you would rarely get away empty handed. To return her generosity, you only needed to have had a good time.

A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Service on Monday April 14, 2025 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 67055 Gratiot Ave, Richmond, MI 48062.
