JOHN DAVID BALL 60, a lifelong resident of Richmond died Tuesday, December 11, 2007 in Mount Clemens Regional Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Ball was born June 18, 1947 in Port Huron to the late Edward and Elizabeth (Isbister) Ball. He married Cecelia Gaedcke in Anchorville on December 4, 1971. John graduated from Richmond High School in 1965 and attended Devry Technical College in Chicago. He worked as a fixture builder for the past thirty years, most currently with Global Tooling Systems in Utica. He was a member of the Richmond Masonic Lodge #187 F&AM, past master of Memphis Lodge #142 F&AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Detroit, Moslem Shrine Temple of Detroit, Memphis Fire Department and the Berville Golf League. He coached Richmond Girls Softball and Richmond Little League. He is survived by his wife, Cecelia, son, Matthew (Lauren), daughter, Jamie (Kyle) Hopp all of Richmond, grandchildren, Haleigh, Andrew, Jacob and Avery Ball, brother, Richard of Maui, HI., sister-in-law, Clara Ball of Richmond and mother-in-law, Margery Gaedcke of Marine City. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Ball in 1999 and father-in-law, Loren Gaedcke in 1997. A funeral service will be Monday, December 17, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond. Reverend Gerhardt Doroh will officiate. Burial will be in Memphis Cemetery. Visiting will be Saturday and Sunday from 3 to 8 p.m. There will be a Masonic service Sunday at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family.
