Jerry Ann Ponder

JERRY ANN PONDER 69 of Columbus Township died Thursday, September 18, 2008 after a brief illness. Mrs. Ponder was born August 2, 1939 in Caruthersville, MO. to the late Cecil and Jocie (Pruitt) Wattle. She married Gary Ponder in Mount Clemens on January 16, 1960. Mr. Ponder died on April 10, 2007. Jerry worked for Ford Motor Company for a period and than worked as a receptionist for Northwestern Auto Salvage in New Haven. She was a member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Richmond and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casinos and especially going up north to her son's cottage in Lewiston. She is survived by her son, Donald Ponder of Columbus, daughter and son-in-law, Dina and Eric Steyer of New Baltimore, siblings, Glynn and Jean Wattle of Kimball, Lynn and Pam Wattle of Macomb, Alan and Kathleen Wattle of AZ., Betty Barnes of Fla., Wilma and Jim Murphy of Fla. and Lewiston, Victoria and Terry Neild of AZ. and Alice Higgins of Algonac, grandchildren, D.J. Ponder and Matthew and Sara Steyer and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service was Monday, September 22, 2008 in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond. Reverend Gerhardt Doroh officiated.
