Harold L. Paetzel

HAROLD LAWRENCE PAETZEL age 87 of Richmond died Saturday, November 5, 2011 in Mount Clemens Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. Mr. Paetzel was born December 12, 1923 in Lenox Township to the late Frederick and Louise (Thueme) Paetzel. He married Doris Singer in Richmond on October 16, 1945. Mrs. Paetzel died August 6, 2001. Harold was a self employed dairy farmer and also retired as a steel cutter from Pardon and Prebel in Warren, MI. He served with the United States Army during World War II and was a member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Richmond. He was also a member of the Michigan Milk Producers Association and enjoyed woodworking especially making "Joker" boards which he distributed throughout the United States. He is survived by his daughters; Joyce (John) Williams and Carol Bonser both of Richmond, his sister; Doris (Louis) Eisen of St. Clair, four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his sister, Bernice Bertossi on November 4, 1974. A funeral service will be on Friday, November 11, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Peter Lutheran Church. Reverend Randy Lett, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in the Richmond Cemetery under the auspices of the St. Clair County Allied Veterans. Visiting will be Thursday from 3 to 5p.m. and 6 to 8p.m. in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to St. Peters Lutheran School Education Fund.
