Edward Schade

EDWARD RONALD SCHADE age 65 of Richmond died Wednesday, November 19, 2008 in Mount Clemens Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. Mr. Schade was born October 1, 1943 in Mount Clemens to the late Edward and Helen (Yaek) Schade. He married Marilyn Gramzow in Richmond on April 19, 1969. Ed graduated from Richmond High School in 1963 and served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967. He worked with his father-in-law, Clarence Gramzow, owner of Richmond Refrigeration. After his father-in-law's death Ed worked for ISI Robotics in Fraser. He was an active member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Richmond and the Richmond Fire Department where he served as chief. He played an active role in the restoration of the antique fire truck. Ed enjoyed all things pertaining to his family, especially his grandsons and playing horseshoes. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, children, Brian and Megan Schade of Richmond and Lori and Ryan Swain of North Carolina, grandsons, Boyd and Matthaus, siblings, Arlen (Lucille) of Casco, Glen (Marilyn) of Goodells, Marvin Schade of Marine City, Norman (Diane) of Casco, Shirley (Arnold) Schroeder of Richmond and Lorraine (Wilbur) Heldt of Ray. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Phyllis Schade on December 21, 2001. A funeral service will be on Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 2:00pm in St. Peter's Lutheran Church. Reverends Gerhardt Doroh and Randy Lett will officiate. Burial will be in Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday and Saturday from 3 to 8pm in Rewalt Funeral Home, Richmond and Sunday from 1:30 to 2:00 in the church. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Peter's Church or the Richmond Fire Department's Old Truck Fund.
