DOUGLAS ROUGER BROWN age 91 of Hale, Michigan died Thursday, December 16, 2010 in Medilodge of Richmond. Mr. Brown was born May 16, 1919 in River Rouge, MI to the late Orville and Florence (Irwin) Brown. He married Evelyn Soulliere Chene in Hale on November 6, 1976. Mr. Brown worked as a tool and die maker before he retired. He was an active member of the UAW, the United Methodist Church of Hale, Past Post commander of VFW #7435 in Hale, K of C in Hale, and served as an Iosco County Commissioner. He enjoyed building and woodworking. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. He is survived by his wife Evelyn, children: Roger (Laura) Brown of Rochester, Barbara (Ed) Beers of Hale, Daniel Chene of East Tawas, Suzanne Chene of Clinton Twp., Joseph (June) Chene of Columbus, MI and Carol Brown of Florida, thirteen grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Joyce (Don) Sabin of Hale. A memorial service will be held early in January. Details will be forthcoming. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Hale Area FISH organization.
