Donald Alan Leenknegt

Donald Alan Leenknegt, of Chesterfield Township, passed away on September 18, 2024 surrounded by the love of his family.  Donald was born October 10, 1955 in Mt. Clemens, a son of Marcel and Dorothy (Barks) Leenknegt. Donald was a retired Union Iron Worker who worked in construction his entire career.  He was an avid motorcyclist and a classic car enthusiast. He enjoyed going up north, fishing, and was a cat rescuer and dog lover.  Most of all, he was a proud father and grandpa.  He and his mother spent the past 15 years taking great care of each other. Donald is survived by his loving children, Dee “Dorothy” (John) Patsalis, Donald M. (Jody) Leenknegt and Susan (Chris) Czarniak; mother, Dorothy Leenknegt; siblings, Deborah (Michael) Shinska, Marcella Shinska, Margaret (James) Boisvert and Daniel V. (Elizabeth) Leenknegt;  grandchildren, Randon, Riley, Chase, Bryce, Anna, Eleni, Warren, and his grandson on the way; and great-grandchildren, Scottlyn and Gardner.  He was predeceased by his Father, Marcel; his brother, Leslie Leenknegt; and brother-in-law, William Shinska and sister-in-law, Bonnie Leenknegt.

A Memorial Service will be held at 5pm with a visitation from 1 p.m. until the time of Service on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at the Rewalt-Peshek Funeral Home, 68655 Stoecker Lane, Richmond.  Memorial donations may be made to “Wishes of the Family”
