Barbara Anne Mckiernan

Barbara Anne McKiernan, 90, passed away Friday, November 15, 2024 after a long illness. Barbara was born April 7, 1934 to the late E. Buel and Lucille Priestap. Barbara is survived by her husband, John McKiernan, children, Michael (Sue), Patrick, Thomas and Anne  McKiernan and Barbara (Tony) Caporale, grandchildren, Braeden McKiernan, Courtney (Kris) Coronado, Christina (Vincent) Pelino, Maggie, Christopher and John Caporale, great grandchildren, Kevin, Aiden and Collin Coronado, siblings, Mary (John) Riedl and Gary (Debbie) Priestap, and many nieces and nephews. Also survived by her sister-in-law and dear friend Winifred Doane, sisters-in-law, Virginia Foley and Nancy McKiernan, and brothers-in-law, Don (Patricia) McKiernan and George Goncczar. Preceded in death by her brother, Edward William Priestap, sisters-in-law, Marie Goncczar and Eileen (Ray) Foley, and brothers-in-law, James (Patricia) McKiernan, Ron McKiernan and Robert Foley. Barbara and John had a long and happy marriage. They were married at St. Augustine Catholic Church in 1957. Barbara was a Registered Nurse and volunteered for over thirty years at St Joseph’s Hospital. She loved spending time with all her grandchildren and enjoyed baking for the whole family.

Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 6:30 on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at the Rewalt-Peshek Funeral Home, 68655 Stoecker Lane, Richmond, MI 48062. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 68035 Main St., Richmond, MI 48062.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St Augustine Catholic School or Capuchin Soup Kitchen Detroit.
