Allen Penwarden

ALLEN DUANE PENWARDEN, age 78 of Marysville, formerly of Richmond died May 13, 2008 in St. Joseph Select Care Hospital in Mount Clemens after a brief illness. Mr. Penwarden was born February 12, 1930 in Richmond to the late George and Myrtle (Green) Penwarden. He graduated from Richmond High School in 1948 and attended Michigan State University. Duane joined the family business, Penwarden Insurance Agency in 1952 and continued working there until the year 2000. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was a former member of the Richmond Lions Club and enjoyed playing golf and the piano. He is survived by his children, Mark and Lesa Penwarden of Lapeer, Debra and Allan Roberts of Lockport, IL and Sue Penwarden of Evanston, IL, step-sons Steven and Gina Nowicki and William Nowicki, sister, Maxine Grubb of Sarasota, FL., grandchildren, Mark Penwarden Jr., Matthew and Kate Roberts, and Mario, Kennedy, and Mason Nowicki, and former wife and mother of his children, Miriam Rattee of Richmond. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Nicole Penwarden on July 12, 1995. Cremation services were handled by Rewalt Funeral Home in Richmond and no services are planned.
