William Esper Obituary

WILLIAM JOSEPH ESPER age 86 of Lenox Township was loaned to us on July 18, 1929 and returned to his Heavenly Father on September 23, 2015. He was born to the late Michael and Katherine (Demick) Esper. He graduated from St. Mary's Catholic High School in Mount Clemens, Michigan in 1947. Bill married Agnes Miller in Utica on August 28, 1954. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a long time member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Richmond and served as an usher. He was a lifelong area farmer and served on numerous agricultural boards and committees and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 2667 in Richmond. Bill and his wife, Aggie treasured their winters in their "Nest in the West" in Tucson, AZ and traveling the United States visiting the National Parks. He is survived by his wife Agnes of sixty-one years, children; Grace and Paul Eisen of Cadillac, Alice and John Battista of Baton Rouge, LA, Dennis and Kathy Esper of Memphis and Marie and Gary Bertossi of Richmond, nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and siblings; Marie Milmine of Chesterfield and Fred Esper of Memphis. He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law Deborah Esper on December 23, 2003 and siblings; Anna Rosseel, Peter Esper, John Esper and Agnes Berry. A funeral service will be on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 1:30pm in St. Augustine Church with visiting stating at 12:30pm. Reverend Joseph Esper, Mr. Esper's nephew will officiate. Visitation will be on Friday September 25th from 2 to 8pm in Rewalt Funeral Home in Richmond. A rosary will be recited at 6:00pm. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery in Richmond. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested for the Richmond Catholic Education Foundation for St. Augustine School or the Richmond-Lenox EMS Scholarship Fund.
