Rodney DeLaney Obituary

Rodney Thomas DeLaney, 73, of Columbus, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at McLaren Macomb Hospital. Rodney was born February 11, 1945 to the late Florence DeLaney and Stanley Grondzik Sr.. He is survived by Jane DeLaney his loving wife of 52 years, daughter Dana (Ed) Paehlig, son Daren (Maria) DeLaney, grandsons Hayden Paehlig and Gabriel DeLaney, sister Florence (Roger) Ruhmann, many aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and his grand dogs Atz and Buddy. Preceded in death by his daughter Deena DeLaney and brother Stanley Grondzik Jr..
Rodney graduated from Richmond High School in 1963, proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp. from 1965 to 1967 and married Jane DeLaney, the love of his life, in 1966. He helped establish the Richmond Girls Softball League with Bea Grondzik in the 1970s. Enjoyed reading, watching movies, gardening, bird hunting and vacations at the beach in Texas, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. Rodney was a true family man who always put his family first and would do ANYTHING for them.
Visitation will be 2:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, January 20, 2019 at the Rewalt-Peshek Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Service Monday, January 21, 2019 at the Rewalt-Peshek Funeral Home, 68655 Stoecker Lane, Richmond, MI 48062.
