Lawrence Evans Obituary

LAWRENCE "MURRAY" EVANS age 79 of Richmond died unexpectedly on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at McLaren Macomb Hospital in Mount Clemens. Mr. Evans was born January 26, 1936 in Memphis, MI to the late Wilke and Elizabeth (Rebert) Evans. He graduated from Richmond High School in 1953 and served in the United States Army. He married Janice Harmon in Richmond on August 11, 1962. Murray worked as a meat cutter. He was employed at Weeks Food Corp in Richmond for twenty-five years, Will and Sons in Memphis and retired from C. Roy and Sons Meat Packers in Yale. He was a farmer and enjoyed farming with his son. Murray enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards. He is survived by his wife, Janice, children; Timothy Evans of Richmond and Heidi (Jeff Phillips) Smith of Columbus Township, grandchildren; Brandon Evans Kyle Smith, Kayla, Bruce and Nicholas Evans, siblings; Raymond (Carole) Evans of Richmond, Neil (Jan) Evans of Algonac and Patricia Iseler of Columbus Township, sisters-in-law; Kelly Evans of Ann Arbor and Emile Evans of Richmond and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers; James, Thomas and Charles Evans and brother-in-law Kenneth Iseler. A funeral service will be on Monday, March 30, 2015 at 10:00am in Rewalt Funeral Home in Richmond. Reverend Alvin Titus will officiate. Visiting will be on Saturday from 5 to 8pm, Sunday from 3 to 8pm and Monday from 9 to 10am. Memorial contributions are suggested for the wishes of the family.
