Kenneth Mackley Obituary

"Uncle" Kenneth Francis Mackley went peacefully to be reunited with his beloved Hilda and his Lord on July 17, 2018. He was 99 years old.
One of 7 children, Uncle Kenny was born on January 7, 1919 to James and Mary Ann Mackley in Lenox, Michigan.
Uncle Ken graduated from Richmond High School in 1937. After high school, he played football and baseball on the town teams with his brothers, Vince (Fox) and Gordon.
On March 31, 1940, he married the love of his life, Hilda Henderson. They were married for 73 years until Aunt Hilda's death in 2013.
Uncle Ken was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and served in the Pacific theater in Okinawa. He was a mechanic and a construction engineer with the Seabees. He was decorated with the Pacific Ribbon with Operation Star and the American Theater Victory Medal before being honorably discharged from military service on November 23, 1945.
After his discharge, Uncle Ken became a steel hauler until he retired. He and Auntie spent many winters in Texas in retirement.
Everyone that met Uncle Kenny enjoyed his wit, his wheezing laugh and his needling. He was especially adept at the needling...
The last Mackley member of The Greatest Generation, he was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years and our beloved Aunt Hilda, as well as his 6 siblings- James Mackley, Juanita Harmon, Frances Brodacki, Vincent Mackley, Gordon Mackley and Margaret (Pauline) Bauman.
He is survived by a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
