Edward Roger Eichbrecht of Columbus, Michigan died August 6, 2019 at the age of 84 . He was born July 29, 1935 to Edward and Isabelle (Ringuette) Eichbrecht of Detroit, Michigan. He had one sister, Joan.
Roger was a graduate of the University of Detroit. He pursued a Masters degree in Administration and gave 30 years of service to public education ending his career in 1987 as a middle school principal at Richards Junior High School in Fraser, Michigan.
In 1957 he married Joanne Mildred Cosentino (predeceased). Together they had four children David (Debbie) Eichbrecht of Bruce MI; Renee'(Doug)Beaufore of St. Johns MI; Michelle Eichbrecht (Al Knight) of Penn Valley CA and Cheryl (Tom) Mapes of Manitou Beach, MI
In 1983 he married Julia Heldina Peterson. She brought two sons to their marriage, John (Simone) Peterson of Shelby Township, MI and Andrew (Theresa) Peterson of Columbus, MI.
Roger has eight grandchildren; Michael, Amanda, Ryan, Shauna, Brian, John, Sarah and Adam and six great grandchildren; Beau, Andrew, Lorraine, Bethel, Joanne and Thaddeus.
He is predeceased by his first wife, Joanne and sister, Joan.
His friendships were cultivated through his career in education and the sports he loved. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his retirement, he became a charter boat captain on the Great Lakes.
Funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m. with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Holy Family Parish, 79780 Main St, Memphis, MI 48041.
